laLocated on the west shore of Flathead Lake, this lake house was designed to fit onto a narrow lot with spectacular views to the northeast and to address the challenge of the steep slope to the south. The volume of the home is carved out on the northeast corner to take advantage of the views and provide a covered area to enjoy an outdoor fireplace. The form of the building is reminiscent of the vernacular farm buildings in the surrounding areas. Such forms have the advantage of allowing natural light to enliven the interior spaces.
