MMW Firm Profile

MMW is always interested in experienced professionals who want to contribute positively to Montana's built environment. If you think you would fit in here, please give us a call.

At MacArthur, Means & Wells, Architects, we are committed to contributing positively to the built environment, with minimal effect on the natural environment. We create places that enhance people's lives by enriching their daily rituals and activities through beauty and efficiency. Our projects respond to the land and climate, as well as to the cultural and historic setting, enlivening and revealing the inherent attributes of the location. The play of natural light in our buildings encourages the occupant to experience the passage of time and season. We take a holistic view of resource efficiency and sustainability in each project. Site planning, building design, systems design and material selection are interconnected facets of responsible resource efficient design. Good decisions will save the owner money over the life of the building and will contribute to a sustainable future. Architecture has the power to make a difference in the world; we always ask ourselves if our design solutions support this power as we'll settle for no less

We respond energetically to every project we work on, bringing our talents and commitment into partnership with our clients. Our design solutions synthesize the client's dreams—from the poetic to the prosaic—into a structure that supports living, working and playing…with the goal of transcending efficiency to art. We are good listeners and we know that the best resource to learn about the requirements of each project is the client. While we're committed to the design process, we're also committed to the relationships that develop during the entire process. We hope the friendships forged will endure as our buildings will. Joining forces with our clients allows us all to grow from the process and be proud of our contributions to this time and place.

While quality of life is paramount in the buildings we create, we also know that quality of life in the firm is important. As a result, the firm takes anywhere from five to seven days off a year to go canoeing, rafting, skiing, snow shoeing, camping, hiking, or other activities that the staff suggests. Life is too short to not have fun or make a difference in the world. At MacArthur, Means and Wells, we strive to do both.
