CLIFF RANCH
Ovando, Montana
With the Blackfoot River running through this pastoral and cliffy land, the Cliff Ranch is a world unto itself. Four original cabins from across the site were brought together in the mid-1990’s to create a central lodge. MMW was brought in to bring new life to the connecting piece and reimagine the original cabin layouts.
A new fire tower surrounded by a flat, green roof now connects the cabins. The fire tower gives a focal point for entry and is surrounded by gracious patios lined with low planter walls. The prairie grass roof connects to the horizontality of the fields and is seasonally in tune with the surrounding landscape.
