CURRENTS COMMUNITY CENTER

Missoula Parks & Recreation

MMW Architects teamed with NAC Architecture for a conceptual design for the new Currents Center for Recreation and Creativity. The design is an addition to the north side of the existing Currents Aquatics Building in McCormick Park. The plan incorporates a gymnasium space for basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and other sports. There is a walk/running track and fitness studios surrounding the gym.

It also incorporates needed community-oriented spaces such as a teen center, senior center, and meeting rooms. Performing arts and cultural spaces are provided, including a Ballroom and Multi-use Theatre space. The facility is designed to be welcoming to all generations, ethnicities, cultures, genders, and identities. The conceptual design is a product of an extensive public process that is still underway.
