SKILLED CARE CENTER
Immanuel Lutheran Communities
This forty-three unit remodel of an existing nursing home from the 1950s sought to modernize its facility. The nursing home was broken into neighborhoods, each having localized dining and living rooms, as well as a private bathroom for every resident.
Moving away from centralized nursing stations to charting rooms and dispersed nursing alcoves gives the space a more hospitable feel and less institutionalized. Part of the remodel aimed to create a better front entry experience for the east side of campus, opening up to the public spaces and tying it together with the western side of the campus with a grand porte-cochère.
